You are looking at an interesting American Flyer factory chrome painted passenger car from 1952. These early series painted chrome cars usually get beat up pretty good as the early chrome paint has a tendency to wear. This car DOES have places where the chrome paint has worn, rubbed, or scratched, but overall, it looks pretty darn good for this car which is harder to come by than you might think.
As you know, there are varying levels of chroming on the chromed cars. The chrome on this one is strong, even on the ends, and it appears to be lacquer style as you can see the orange peel effect close up.
IT IS TO PHOTOGRAPH THESE CHROME CARS. There may be reflection or refraction that looks like it is on the car.
CONDITION: All original. Quite clean. There are rubs and scratches in the chrome in a few places. Trucks and couplers are complete. The printing is mostly bold. However, for this car, it is in great shape. C6.
