BOXED AND IN ORIGINAL BOXES FROM JAPAN 1970s
We cannot warranty this item as we cannot test it (nor do we have the expertise). As is. We plugged it in, and it lights up and spins. We did not want to "learn" on your new - old clean machine. Please bid accordingly.
This is model GX-220D with a serial number beginning with K. It has the original Akai metal reel. It features a glass and X'tal ferrite head.
This is something you do not see everyday, straight from the family of the original owner.
This came from the estate of a family who says their uncle had this item shipped home at the end of his time fighting in Vietnam. It looks like it has been used, but it clearly has been inside this box for a very long time. The original shipping label is on the outer box. Has the shipping box from Japan as well as the inner box and styrofoam holders. There is no manual with it.
I have no way to test it, but it does power up and spin upon plugging it in. The cord is in good shape. The power button is in good shape.
CONDITION: Plugged in, lights and spins. We cannot warranty this item as we cannot test it (nor do we have the expertise).
In original box and shipper. Cord is in good condition. Plugged it in, and it lights and spins. The meters at the bottom appear to be working as well. There is a little bot of cosmetic wear--a curved scratch from a reel by one of the posts and some dust and light wear here and there. There is a scratch in the "wood" panel on the top, pictured. Overall, the unit looks fantastic to me. The metal Akai reel is in great shape. The outer box shows wear. Has the shipping box from Japan as well as the inner box and styrofoam holders.
