VERY CLEAN INTERESTING MARBLED VERSION
This is an interesting American Flyer passenger car from 1949-52. This car is complete and clean. Put it behind that Northern ("Challenger") or the Hudson. What a train! These Heavyweights always look great. This is the observation car.
Most interestingly, this car has a marbled shell. It is the unpainted tuscan (really more of a dark maroon) shell that has some of that marblized pattern very visible. The marbling is not as loud as in the other two cars we have offered right now.
There are a few variations of this car, and this one is
- Tuscan (vs. Red or Green)
- unpainted plastic shell (vs. painted red or green)
- link coupler, black weight
- BLOCK printing (versus serif)
We do have two other cars--652 and 653-- from this set listed separately right now if you are quick enough. We listed separately due to slight condition variations and customer request.
The 654 Pullman Observation
CONDITION: Quite clean. See description for details. Nice printing but lettering is lighter, perhaps faded, and there is a rub in the numbering on one side. Complete trucks and couplers, but they are a little dirty--you will want to clean. Paint loss on doors, pictured. Some scratches visible in body but they are not too distracting. Some oxidation on underside axles.
