You are looking at a fun American Flyer accessory offered from 1948-50, the Talking Mystic Station.
This is a really fun accessory, one of the ones that gets a lot of attention. You can use the button to start and stop the station announcements, or you can actually wire it to play automatically (detailed instructions for this included).
This is a good buy if you are looking for an operating one for the layout. There are a few cosmetic flaws described below.
