This is the engine collectors often refer to as the Challenger, partially due to its size but more because it was featured in the catalogs in a set every boy wanted called the Challenger. It stuck.

THE 4-8-4 UP NORTHERN K335
The 4-8-4 Northern steam engine carries the famous Union Pacific markings (even the outline of the iconic UP Shield on the front). There is NO original wrapper or cardboard wrap for this locomotive.
The engine is cosmetically C-6, nice. The numbering and lettering is crisp and strong. There is a little bit of bleed or white smear in a few spots.
The tender has some visible playwear and paint rubs. The print is good, but does have some scratches in it.
It runs, cycles, smokes, choochoos and lights.
This item has been serviced and has had a few pieces replaced. You can see new-looking screws underneath. The drawbar is a reproduction. The wiring harness and fifth wire have been professionally replaced during the servicing here. The numbers on the numberboard appear to have been replaced.
