NOTE: THIS IS FOR 250 VOLT NOT 110
THIS IS A SCARCE UNIT LIONEL MADE FOR FOREIGN MARKETS
NOT EVEN LISTED IN YOUR GUIDES!
SOLD AS A COLLECTOR ITEM
You are looking at a nice Lionel postwar original RW250 transformer. It operates with 250 volt electricity. Only the RW250 version of the RW is listed as suitable for 220-250V input. It is 100 watts and 50 cycles.
This is NOT a transformer to buy for your traditional Lionel layout in an American home.
This is a collector item.
The more common RW transformer offers 110 watts / 60 cycles at 115 volts, which aligns well with US homes where we use 120 (although power supplied may be as low as 110).
THIS TRANSFORMER was made for foreign electricity at 250 volts. Of course, some of our home appliances (like stoves and dryers) do use 240, but they require special wiring and plugs.
It has
- VARIABLE control
- controls for whistle
- and direction
- 100 watts
- 250 volts
CONDITION: C6, very good. Collector item. Looks nice. New cord. Tested. NOTE THIS IS 250 VOLTS NOT 115. Faceplate is cleaner than most but DOES have some scratches here and there. The metal case and base DO have some oxidation and some playwear/use, all pictured for you. Good cord.
