You are looking at a very special car. This car was a special run commissioned by Lone Star Trains 18 years ago, in a limited quantity of 495. Of that, 25 were given to VIPS at the Spoetzel Brewery, and only 470 remained to sell. The car sold out very quickly, and rarely appears for sale. When we asked the owners of the company to do another, they declined, saying that they did not want to do any more.
We recently acquired this one in a collection.
The car is a special cross-collectible. It features the famous Texas beer, Shiner Bock, Brewed with an Attitude. It also features the markings of the San Antonio and Aransas Pass, and a real SA&AP road number on the side. The SA&AP DID in fact carry Shiner Beer--there are old pictures of SA&AP reefers at the Spoetzel brewery.
The car is a very nice woodsided refrigerator car, perfect for your classic sized three rail or your wood sided reefer collection. It has operating couplers and die cast sprung trucks. It was given K-Line catalog number K642-9013.
CONDITION: C-8. Looks like new. A little bit of run time visible on trucks and wheels, but not much. Some light oxidation on wheels and couplers. With original box that is P-6+ with rubs on back and creases on endflaps. With original cardboard shipper box as well. Also still has original sticker with the limited number.
