You are looking at a neat standard gauge tank car that may be one more variation you do not have of this car. I have always admired the oval plates on this one. There were a few versions of this car 1926-1940!
This is Lionel prewar Sunoco tank car in Standard Gauge. The car came in MANY different combinations. Do you have them all?
THIS ONE is interesting. It has nickel brakestands and wheels, nickel journals and domes, but the railing and the plates are BRASS (usually the plates on the silver one were nickel). In addition, the Lionel Lines plate has black print; the 215 plate has RED.

CONDITION: C-6-. Lots of scratches. Decals are mostly nice with just a small chip or two here and there. Missing one journal box. Scratches on brass plates. This is a nice looking original car. Brass plates. Both couplers. No box.
