WOW--As clean as you will find it!!
Here is a Lionel 2472 red caboose from 1946. This is the variation featuring:
- tinplate
- Unlighted
- Coil couplers
- staple end trucks
- Pennsylvania roadname
- Knuckle coupler
- Eastern Div
- 477618
- Red
- Box and inner cardboard insert
CONDITION: C7 awfully close to C-8. The paint on the car is beautiful. There ARE a few runs in the paint, mostly along the roof edge on one side, and a speck on the cupola on one side. There is a scratch on the underside, but the number stamp is still crisp. The white lettering appears off-white; not sure if this is from handling (but if it is is, why isn't the paint similarly darkened?) or from the factory paint. Looks beautiful. The box is crisp but a little dirty. One end flap is complete and shows some edge wear/softness; the other end flap also shows some softness and is missing one inner side flap. The inside cardboard wrap is crisp and in great shape.
