Here is a clean operating and complete Lionel 45N gateman from the PREWAR era. The gateman himself is very nice. This one has the thicker diecast style crossing sign of the era. There are lots of different changes on the 45N over the years. Make sure you have them all!
THIS ONE is from 1940-42:
- Ivory painted shack
- Decal with 45 on the toolbox
- A dot between Corporation and New York on the decal
- Serif on Horizontal part of the "4"
- Diecast crossbuck
- Gray (not silver) sign post
- Dark painted finial
CONDITION: Overall, C-7. You might want to clean the ivory. Decal is sharp. Item tested and works. There are a few paint rubs here and there but not enough to take away from how nice this one is. The base has some light discoloration on the base including one obvious yellow streak.
The BOX has some light edgewear to it. A few small tears. Has softness. Lots of the original tape is still on it.
