Here is a neat clean 1950's era Lionel item--this is a postwar 6026W tender. It would look great with ANY of your old postwar or modern traditional Lionel--or run it with your PREWAR steam engine and have a way to TRANSITION into your postwar cars. It will look good with any tenderless Lionel steam engine from any year post -1945. It has the operating knuckle coupler on the back.
The number tells us it has a whistle (W).
The 6026W originally came in sets with steam engines in 1953-59 such as the
- 685 and 2055 in 1953
- 665, 2055 and 2065 in 1954
- 665, 2016, 2055 and 2065 in 1955
- 2016, 2018, and 2055 in 1956
- 2037 in 1957-59
BUT it will go with ANY Lionel steam engine.
- Air whistle
- Nice simulated coal load up top.
- Bar end trucks
- Operating coupler
- Metal wheels and axles
- Compatible with any three rail O gauge steam engine
- Some call this one an ATSF style tender
CONDITION: C-6+. Serviced and operating as it should. Motor and relay recently cleaned. Pickups have been rewired. The lettering looks nice on this one. There are some scratches and rubs in the plastic tender shell from general playwear and use. Has all four steps. You can see it all in the pictures. We have provided numerous enlargeable pics--go for it and see it as up close as possible.
