You are looking at a classic O gauge locomotive. This is THE one everyone wants, and for a long time, Classic Toy Trains magazine used the postwar Berkshire as a measuring stick in its reviews of newer engines. This is the classic heavy die cast Lionel 1950's 2-8-4 steam engine.
I did not notice the locomotive needed marker light jewels until I processed the listing. We will be happy to add the marker light jewels for you upon your request.
This unit is an early 1953 version:
-
SILVER numbers stamped under cab windows (at least they look silver to me--could be a shade of white? Check out the pics)
-
4 piece cab window
-
Headlight with the bracket
-
Flagstaffs present on front
-
Die cast trailing truck
-
2671WX tender with the smaller lettering
In addition, it has all the usual Berkshire features:
- Magnetraction
-
Headlight
-
Smoke
-
Reverse
-
Whistling Tender
CONDITION: Engine is C-6+, some may call C-7; tender is C-6. Locomotive runs, smokes, lights, and reverses. It needs jewels--if you would like us to put them in before shipping, just ask! The engine has a few paint rubs and some light surface rust on a siderod. The printing is good. The tender whistles but has a little bit of a growl along with the loud whistle. Tender has some paint rubs and handling wear, all pictured.
