You are looking at a PART for your classic steam engine from 1933-1939. This metal boiler shell for a steam engine fits the 385E and the 1835E. It is possible it fits others, but these are the ones I know it fits. These engines are 2-4-2 STANDARD GAUGE engines.
THIS unit is an original Lionel shell from the 1930s. NOTE THAT YOU ARE GETTING MORE THAN A MERE SHELL: Check out some of the EXTRAS still on it--piping,whistle, bell, Lionel plaque on cab sides, nickel handrail, stanchions...THESE PARTS ADD UP!!
