Is there anything more iconic with Lionel Trains than the Santa Fe F3?
You are looking at a VINTAGE Lionel 2383 Santa Fe F3 diesel Powered A unit. We serviced this one here at Lone Star Trains, so you know it is ready for duty.
This one has the blackened side-frames and operating couplers.
- Twin vertical motors
- Blackened side frames on trucks
- Three position E-Unit
- Operating coupler
Operator hint: Use as fat a D cell battery as you can for horn. The compartment was made for the larger D we had in the 50's and 60's. Many of today's brands are a little slimmer.
CONDITION: Just serviced. Runs well. Reverses, lights, and horn honks. Really nice looking shell with minimal wear. Good decals and print. The silver base DOES show some wear.
To be super nit-picky: Under a lamp, you can see a scratch in the red finish on one side of the cab. There is also a small rub in the patina perhaps from handling on one side. There are a few very small paint chips on the back top edge of the roof. These are all hard to see without close scrutiny or bright lights. The battery compartment is relatively clean, but the bracket shows some rust.
