This is just what you need for your Lionel collector case. It is one of those accessories that some collectors go a lifetime without ever seeing. Not a common item!
This one is complete and comes with the original box and instructions. How often are you going to find it this clean and complete?
The #299 is a neat accessory offered from 1961-63.
Everything looks good here. There is just a little bit of oxidation on the base of the beacon top.
The original bulb (which was a very odd design with two tiny wires that came out of the bulb and wrapped around two posts) is no longer in production or available anywhere. We have retrofitted a lamp housing and more standard bulb for this to be operable. The original parts are also here and will be included for you.

CONDITION: C-6+. Boxed. Would be strong C-7 except that we have adapted the original bulb assembly to be functional AND REPLACEABLE as the original bulb is no longer available. Tested and works. Transmitter and tower are in good shape.
BOX is P-3 and shows wear with some creases and a tear along the edge of one end flap so that it is detached. Other inner side flaps are detached but present. There are a few stains on the box. One long side is a little wavy likely from heat or the stain. Other obvious wear and tear. Cellophane window is here as is the insert and instructions. The insert is aged and yellowed as they usually are, but it is here and in reasonable good shape.
