Professional restoration of an original unit
You are looking at a beautiful steam engine from the 1929-31. This is one nice engine and tender that has been professionally restored. Please read detailed item condition notes below.
THIS unit is an original Lionel unit from the 1920s. It was nicely repainted using the original paint scheme you see here. Some of the ornamental items may be repro--I have no way of knowing. All I know is it started life original, had the wheels replaced at some point, and is a beautiful repaint. The motor is most likely a replacement as well as it looks shiny. It does have a Build A Motor plate on the motor assembly.
The tender is also a beautifully done restoration.
We have a few other standard gauge pieces right now. Buy more and save.
CONDITION: WOW--A beautiful and professionally done repaint and restoration. Looks great. Wheels have been replaced and are in great shape. Motor is probably a replacement as well. Runs fine forward only. Can't seem to get it to cycle to reverse. Build-A-Motor. Trailing truck is a little loose--may need to be re-riveted at some point. Front headlight has been glue at some point. Front light has original cloth wire and comes on and off--may be the bulb, not sure.
