Nice unit, BOXED with inserts from 1955
You know the story on the NEW ZWs...a nice item, but in the 5-6 hundred dollar range, and not even available some parts of the year! Why not go for a classic: much less in price, and MUCH EASIER TO GET SERVICED!!
You are looking at a nice CLEAN Lionel postwar original ZW transformer. THIS one has been recently serviced and tested here at Lone Star Trains and is ready to play with NOW.
If you look closely at the box, you can see the date 6/22/55 printed on the bottom. Likewise, the hobby store owner or the proud new owner of the unit wrote in very small characters: "12/27/55 $20."

This ZW transformer is the most powerful transformer Lionel made back in the day. This is the iconic transformer you remember from the 1950s and that you saw on the Addams Family. It has remained the style everyone wants and remembers. It has 250 watts of power and has four variable controls, (two of which have the whistle and direction controllers) so you can run trains and lots more with this one power supply. Use one or two of the circuits for accessories!
CONDITION: C-7 overall. Serviced. Tested and works. New cord. The case looks great. There ARE a few scratches in the top. Plate on the top looks good but shows some light wear and scratches. Box is in great shape with the original cardboard inserts and instructions. The BOX has some taping and paper rub as you can see.
