Here is a Louis Marx Diesel freight set from 1950. This one utilizes the seven inch tinplate cars and puts it with the electric version of the great looking #6000 SP diesel engine and dummy. The freight cars are all the seven inch tinplate series.
The set includes
#6000 SP Powered A Unit C7
- A few very light scratches. Serviced and running well.
#6000 SP Dummy A unit C6
- A few light scratches. Some paint loss on one corner of the cab and across the roof where the two pieces of metal meet.
The freight cars are all nice. They all feature:
- Metal tab and slot couplers
- 7" series
The cars include:
37956 Pennsylvania Merchandise Services Boxcar C-8
- Shiny. Hubba Hubba.
80982 Wabash gondola C-7
- Slight separation at one corner.
1235 SP Caboose (matches diesels) C-8
THE SET BOX 9500
Is the nicest Marx set box I have seen. Crisp in structure and clean printing. There is one mark on the top, and one mark on one short end, both visible in the pictures, but it is not much of a detraction. Does have corner rubs. P-7+ to P-8.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
- Lock On
Sure to be a shiny addition to your Marx collection...
