You are looking at a STUNNING Lionel J-Class Hudson, the Norfolk and Western streamlined steam engine and tender. This one was an instant classic. This unit released in 1981 is a reissue of the iconic 746 from the postwar era.
This is an updated version of that 746, one of Lionel's most famous postwar engines, except this one has electronic sound of steam and electronic horn.
Note that Electronic SOS is a chuff-simulator using the "dead air" snow sound regularly interrupted as the speed increases or decreases. Pretty clever. Horn is electronic. From 1981, these sounds are not what you hear in the more recent digital trains.

CONDITION: C-7. Everything looks excellent here. Engine tested and runs. Serviced. Wires from engine to tender have been replaced and strengthened. Note that the sounds from 1981 are electronic and not digital. They work. If you look super up close, you can see some oxidation on the handrail. There are a few paint rubs along the top of the engine and other minor signs of use that keep it from like new rating. Roller does show a little runtime, so we know it has been on the rails. Box shows usual shelfwear with some creases, wear and handling.
SHIPPING INCLUDES INSURANCE AND SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION.
