You are looking at a Lionel Santa Fe Dash 8-40B diesel made in 1990. This one is a bigger engine that some of the more conventional ones--it would be at home with conventional OR STANDARD O such as MTH Premier, Atlas O, etc.
It does have a repaired front deck--read the condition notes and look at the pics. Still, a nice running BIG engine!

CONDITION: C-6-. Looks great except for the front deck repair--chips and reglued. There is paint loss there--will let you paint, weather, or leave alone. Front rail is a tad loose--will let you secure. A few other light rubs and tiny nicks from handling and runtime. Tested and runs. Box present and in great shape with some usual shelfwear such as scuffs, rubs, and discoloration.
