You are looking at a fantastic Standard O Scale 1/48 SD40T-2 diesel A engine. This was an interesting release: it is 1/48 Standard O scale, but it operates conventionally and has an electronic horn. If you want something true to scale but don't need all the bells and whistles, this is the one for you.

With intake vents positioned at the lower rear of the hood, the SD-40T-2 locomotives were built to operate through snowsheds and tunnels. Ready for duty in the conventional environment, the Rio Grande SD-40T-2 diesel locomotives include the distinctive see-though grills on the sides.
