You are looking at a vintage American Flyer #18B transformer.  The 18B is one of the most powerful made in toy train land. In 1953, this unit was manufactured with 190 watts and up to 18 volts. The next two (and last) years of production, it came with 175 instead.

This unit has been tested and is doing everything it should.

One of the nice things about Flyer transformers is that they have an on/off toggle switch so that unlike Lionel transformers, you can leave it plugged in and turn it off.

In addition, this one has the Deadman Control so that you can pull up on the lever to stop the train (or cycle your reverse unit). This was a neat toy train take on the real engineer cab experience.

CONDITION: C-7; Clean, has a few rubs. light rust, and some scratches. White paint is lightly worn on top. The handles have some discoloration. All functions tested and working great. Overall, a nice unit, ready to use. With a COPY of original instructions.
