You are looking at a Louis Marx Metal FM diesel AB set from the postwar era. Check out how cool it is to have the A unit AND THE HARDER TO FIND B UNIT.

There are several variations of this unit. Make sure you have them all. This engine has a single axle motor. The Monon came both with and without headlight and front lens. This version came without the headlight or plastic lens.

This set utilizes the beautiful red and gray streamlined F unit style locomotive with the red and gray tin that has always been one of my favorites. Upon close scrutiny, the shade of gray on the roof of the B is a little different shade than the grayon the engine.

This is one of those sets everyone wants and that looks so unique on the layout.
