Here is a nice smoke in tender version of the 322. It has the New York Central logo on the tender. I think this one is from 1947 and had the coupler replaced at some point with the darkened weight version. This engine is ready to run.
The smoke hose from the engine fits over the nozzle on the tender. Some people like to put a small diameter straw inside to enhance the connection. It is smoking well.
There is a lever for the smoke and choo choo in the tender underneath the tender. The reverse unti lever is in the boiler. Note that the smoke lever in the tender does not have as much play as you are used to with the reverse unit lever (there is just not as much room!). A little push will get turn it on or off.

New York Central (NYC)
CONDITION: C-6-. Serviced, tested, and it is working good. It runs, cycles, smokes, and choo choos. Has had a light service. Coupler is complete. Cosmetically shows handling and playwear. There are scratches and scuffs and fading as pictured. Numbers rubbed off on one side. A few spots of red rubs--not sure of it is from a layout or another engine. Rails show oxidation.
