OWN A PIECE OF TOY TRAIN HISTORY.
Owned by LOU HERTZ.
You are looking at a really neat early standard gauge car that originally belonged to Lou Hertz, one of the earliest and more renowned toy train collectors. Lou started collecting trains around 15 years old (in the 1930's), and wrote 14 books on the subject, pioneering toy train journalism.
This car was originally in his collection, and tragically, Lou's collection was in a flood. This car was restored by E.A. DeBuzay, a TCA member, who did quite a nice job and documented the provenance on the very bottom. He added a second light (and of course pick up for it).
