An Unusual SEARS Set you Do Not Often See
You are looking at an interesting boxed American Flyer COMPLETE set from 1956 that was NOT in the catalogs. It was only available through Sears. These Sears sets have been popular with collectors lately.
It is a neat set featuring a steam engine with all the features and some super clean freight cars. As an uncatalogued set, this is not a set you see all that often.
And, true to Flyer's 1950's era department store sets, this one has lots of track--the 12 curved PLUS a stack of STRAIGHTS! PLUS it comes with a #747 trestle set, in its original box.
THE 303 Atlantic 4-6-2 Steam Engine
Clean. Engine tested and runs, smokes choo-choos. Engine is really nice cosmetically.
Tender is really nice and clean. Good printing.
With original wrapper with clear identification on the tape.
THE 801 Baltimore & Ohio Hopper
The car is clean. Printing is nice. A few scratches, but really C7. Coupler looks great. All four steps.
THE 925 GULF Single Dome Tank Car
The car is clean. Palstic base version. Printing is nice. Does have some evidence of handling. Good decals though they are a little bit faded.
THE 803 ATSF Boxcar, Santa Fe, The Chief West
The car is clean. Some scratches in the surface and a little bit of print wear.
THE 805 Pennsylvania Gondola
The car is clean. Printing is nice. C7. A few signs of handlign and play.
THE 806 American Flyer Lines Caboose
The car is clean. Nice patina. Nice lettering. Looks like new.
SET BOX 1190
Clearly stamped on box, but it is weak. Set box is in pretty good shape. Set number is clear. Has the American Flyer label with the set number faded but visible. Big black mark on flap. Good basic structure.
