Here is an impressive American Flyer steam engine from 1951. This 4-8-4 Northern is super clean and crisp, and ready to run.
This is the engine collectors often refer to as the Challenger, partially due to its size but more because it was featured in the catalogs in a set every boy wanted called the Challenger. It stuck.
THE 4-8-4 UP NORTHERN 332AC
The 4-8-4 Northern steam engine carries the famous Union Pacific markings (even the outline of the iconic UP Shield on the front). There is NO original wrapper or cardboard wrap for this locomotive.
We tested it, and it runs, cycles, smokes, choochoos and lights. It may be a little dry; that is why we always recommend lubing or servicing these old engines before extensive run time.

CONDITION: C-6. Tested and runs. Repaired number board. Printing and white striping is in good shape with some wear. Tiny green dot on engine and on tender. Metal railing is a little oxidized.If you look close, you can see the railing on tender is a little bent. Some paint chips. All pictured. Runs, smokes, and choo-choos. No wrapper.
