Might be as CLEAN as you will find. Condition matters.
You are looking at an American Flyer 910 Gilbert Chemicals tank car. This one is from 1954 and is one of the most colorful cars Flyer produced. It is the same colors as the Celanese tank car, just with Gilbert Chemicals printed on it. Gilbert originally intended for this car to be olive drab where it is green (according to factory mock-ups). However, they wound up using the Celanese colors.
This one features
- Die Cast frame
- Sintered iron truck sides
- Metal handrails
- Metal ladder
- Platform
- Knuckle couplers
CONDITION: C-7, some would rate higher. Crisp printing. The car is clean overall, excellent. The paint is great, the printing is sharp. There are a few paint rubs on the black-painted railings and underneath the platform.Upon super close scrutiny, you can see some dust and handling that I will leave to the next owner to clean or not.
