You are looking at a STUNNING and MASSIVE Lionel Union Pacific 4-8-8-4, known as the BIG BOY.
In the 1970s-90's, before MTH got rolling, there was massive collector demand for items never before produced. Creative entrepeneurs custom commissioned some great items to fill the void. THIS engine is from that era, meant to satisfy customer wants before the digital age.
This engine is a beauty. It is conventional, with a traditional three position e-unit and simple lighting. There are no other bells and whistles.
FEATURES:
- Die cast locomotive
- #4000
- Sheet metal tender
- "Union Pacific" on tender
- 22" Locomotive
- 11" tender
- Brass plate on bottom with number engraved
- Articulated
Run it with your Lionel, MTH, Weaver, Williams and other three rail O gauge. But be sure you have 072 radius (or a BIG space on the shelf!).
This item was number 212 of a limited run. It has the number engraved on the bottom. If you collect BIG BOYS, this may be the first one ever made in O.
When will you ever see this again?
