You are looking at a Lionel 2411 flat car with metal pipes. This is the highly sought after "Big INCH" flat from 1946. Since it was produced to simulate and celebrate the pipelines of the War Emergency Pipelines of the 1940s, the car goes well in any area of the country, from Texas and the Gulf Coast to refineries in New York and Philadelphia.
It is a heavy die cast flatcar, painted gray with stakes and metal pipes. The lettering is nice. And it comes with a box.
CONDITION: Car is C6. Car has pipes and stakes. There are scuff marks on the top part of the flat. Lettering looks good. Stamping on bottom is crisp. Other mark on underside. Pipes have some oxidation. The BOX is rough, somewhere between P-4 and P-5. Moderately torn end flaps. One end taped. Some aging to box color. Edge wear. Some inner flaps missing. You can see it all in the pics.
