SCARCE--One of the Harder to Find Brass Engines
One of only 150 produced of the unpainted model
Only one is painted like this!
You are looking at a vintage brass diesel AB locomotive manufactured in Japan.
This one is a model of the famous Texas and Pacific Eagle passenger PA diesels. It is a model of the standard version of the PA and B unit.
It looks factory painted to me, but it could be a very professional custom job for a very special version of a Texas and Pacific diesel. Either way, it is a beauty. Be sure to enlarge the pictures to see it up close and personal!
As for who made it, I am not sure. I can see Japan stamped on the underside of the B unit. The most likely importer based on my research is Oriental Limited. Some manufacturer possibilities include Balboa, KMT or Samhongsa.
- Factory or professional paint
- Standard version of the PA/B (vs. Santa Fe version)
-
Possibly imported by Oriental Limited
- If so, only 150 made
- Produced 1981
- Nice after market box by Reboxx
- Scale couplers
- Metal wheels
- Beautiful detail
- Motorized power unit
CONDITION: High C7, some may call C8. Looks real nice. PA power unit tested and runs. May want to service/lubricate as it has been sitting many many years. If you look real close, there are a few areas where there is a paint rub. Nose decal on power A appears to have a line down the middle. One plastic lens on nose light looks like it has either fallen inside the shell or is missing. B unit is unpowered. Cosmetically, a beauty! BOX is nice, but is a Reboxx repro.
