Here is a colorful addition to your American Flyer collection. This is the Bangor and Aroostoock Boxcar put out by American Flyer in 1956 and 1957.

Check out the fantastic BAR logo on this one. I have always liked the herald "serving Northern Maine"--nice detail.
If you collect American Flyer, run a bicentennial train (think red, white, and blue) and especially if you like postwar cars, this is a MUST HAVE.

  • Road number 982
  • Sintered iron truck sides
  • Operating knuckle couplers
  • Metal Axles
  • Metal chassis
  • Metal door guides
  • Metal latch
  • Door nibs still here
  • 1956-1957
CONDITION: C-7, excellent. With door nibs. All printing is nice and crisp.  The white on the doors on each side is just a hair different shade probably due to hands opening and closing the doors over the last 65 years. Clean metal door guides, clean latches, clean metal base. Underside of base does have a few oxidation spots, but they are small. A spot or two visible in one door guide if you hold it sideways under a lamp, otherwise really clean metal. Overall, a very nice car.
