A Complete BOXED Running Standard Gauge Passenger Set with the number 8

This is Lionel prewar set #347, a set comprised of the #8 electric outline locomotive and two passenger cars.
This set came in two main variations: maroon trim and number boards and RED trim, numberboards, and red PRINT on the brass plates. THIS set is the MAROON version. See our other listings for the red trim/print version.

There is no track or transformer with this set. It did originally come with track. If you require track and a power unit to go with this set and rheostat, we can set you up with them in a separate listing.
CONDITION: Overall, very good plus condition.
#8 engine has been serviced and is running and reversing via the manual reverse lever. Some rubs, paint nicks and light scratches. One of the flag holders is smaller than the other three. Do not know if it came like that from factory or aftermarket.
If you look closely, all three pieces have some tan layout splotches (paint?) on sides. Cars have signs of playwear: some paint nicks, small scratches, and some small areas of wrapping paper residue on sides.
Outer set box has wear but the labels are largely complete. Has some tape repairs, torn corners, some discoloration. Visible stamping.
