This is the 153IR that uses an infrared sensor that the passing train breaks and activates the accessory. You can set the duration and sensitivity.
This is a much better alternative to the classic spring type contactor--no more messing with the spring to make sure it is sensitivbe enough and trying to find a way to fit it under the track. PLUS it doubles as a realisitic trackside structure.
Use this one with tubular or Fasttrack style track.
Using infrared, the 153IR sends a signal across your tracks. When the signal is reflected, the accessory to which the 153IR is connected begins to operate. Controls for time delay (from zero to five seconds) and signal sensitivity give the 153IR tremendous flexibility in controlling the exact moment you want your accessory to operate. Designed into a realistic, die-cast track-side building, the 153IR looks at home on any layout.
