You are looking at a stunning steam engine and four car Heavyweight passenger set known as the The Southern Crescent. This was a very detailed and more prototypical version of the desirable Southern Crescent.
You can run it conventionally or with your Train Master Command Control.
Some interesting background
In 1929, the Southern Railway gave its prestigious New York to New Orleans train a dignified make-over. Two-tone green Pullman cars, lettered in gold, perfectly matched a stable of Virginia green locomotives that hauled the Crescent Limited into history.
This Lionel locomotive provides an accurate scale-sized model of the elegant lines of a Southern PS-4 Pacific type. The authentic color schemes on both the locomotive and the cars are taken from actual Southern Railway painting and lettering diagrams for the Crescent Limited.

CONDITION: C-8+. Engine is still wrapped in the factory wrapping. We wanted you to be the first. The passenger cars have been out of the boxes and look like new. There are some minor surface rubs on two cars from packaging--you can see it on the Robert F Hoke and William King cars in the angled picture below--hard to see in person, but shows up in close up pic with flash. Might have to hold sideways under a lamp to see in person. . All look like new. Pictures show it all. Individual boxes and set box are nice with minor shelfwear. Shipping box shows usual wear. We will ship it in ANOTHER box to protect your original shipper.
