You are looking at a scarce boxcar from 1982. This is one of the hardest items to find from the MPC era.
Lionel produced a NIBCO Express promotional train set for NIBCO Plumbing, a "Quality Piping Company," in the early 1980s. The boxcar was NOT part of the set; it was an ADD-ON.
NIBCO customers had to purchase the NIBCO set, then purchase two NIBCO washerless faucet items. THEN the customer would send proof of purchase with the coupon from the set to obtain this car.
Lionel made 500 of these cars. They made 250 available to NIBCO and 250 to Lionel collectors. That is it.
