Here is the famous and iconic 1930's Prewar City of Salina, the M10000 prewar set ready to run on your 072 wide track or put on that collector shelf. This is the aluminum colored version of the set.
This was released as outfit number 751W way back in 1935 the only year the three piece set came with or without a whistle. It is an articulated streamliner with really cool vestibules connecting the cars.
As you can see, this aluminum-colored (not made of aluminum!) set was played with and enjoyed. We have serviced it, and it is running as it should. The whistle however is somewhat weak.
Locomotive is made of sheet metal except for the cab front and top over motor which are die cast.

754 Observation
CONDITION: C-5+. Engine serviced, runs, reverses, honks, and lights. Cars are all lighted. Has handling and playwear: lots of rubs in the silver, some lettering wear, some hard to see spots of touch up paint. Longer rubs along tops; some yellowed window strips; scratches, weak horn but it does work. No boxes. Pictures show it all, so be sure to enlarge them and look at it all up close.
