SUPER SCARCE! Custom run of a car LIONEL PROMISED but NEVER MADE.
You are looking at a scarce woodside reefer made by an independent dealer using a Lionel woodside reefer. Why would someone do this? Because Lionel couldn't.
In the 1979 Lionel advance catalog, Lionel promises this Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cheese woodside reefer. However, Lionel was unable to get the rights to make it after the fact. Whoops. So in the 1980s, another vendor made this car (I believe RGS did the artwork). It was sold at York until they ran out.
CONDITION: C-8 looks like new. The BOX is in generally P-7 excellent shape, but it DOES have a crease or two. The original label for this custom run is on the box end and in good shape. Scroll down into the listing to see many more pictures. And don't forget to supersize them to see it all.
