25 VOLTS!
COMPLETE and WORKING
You are looking at the biggest transformer available in the prewar and early postwar era. This is a vintage Lionel Type Z transformer. The Z is one of the most powerful made in toy train land--it has 250 watts of power and four controllers. Just...WOW. Has a great vintage 1940's look and feel. This one has been tested here at Lone Star Trains and is doing everything it should. It was made 1938-42 and 1945-47. It was offered prewar and postwar.
The best thing is it has up to 25 VOLTS! This is the power you need for big engines, beefy prewar, and especially STANDARD GAUGE. The famous ZW tops out around 16-18 volts--you get more UMPH with this one.
This one features:
It makes a little noise, quietly humming as they all do. You can find 167s in our other listings.
Whether you run Lionel or even American Flyer, you can use this AC power supply. You can use it for multiple loops on your layout, or use it to manage some of those accessories that take a lot of juice. How nice to just set the knob where you want each accessory to be power-wise.
CONDITION: C-6. Tested and all four channels work. Original faceplate shows use and wear as pictured. Bakelite case is intact and in good shape. Cord has been evaluated and is nice and complete--I believe it has been replaced at some point. All four controls tested and work. NO BOX. With a COPY of the original instructions.
