You are looking at a super MTH Tinplate Traditions release from way back in 1997. This replica of the 216 hopper has a coal load and operating hatches that you cna open and close with the wheel in the middle.
This one is the best of both worlds--the exact look of the classic Lionel standard gauge cars with the brand new parts and shine of a new item. Put this looker out on display and don't worry about a thing. Let everyone ooh and ahhh.
This is an earlier MTH tinplate item. As such, it is not one you see for sale all that often.
Use it with any standard gauge, and it will be right at home. You can run it with the original or add it to the MTH tinplate cars you have.
