BLUE GOOSE!
VERY HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS--rarely offered for sale
From 1996!! Does not get too much earlier than this.
One of the early factory painted aluminum sets!
You are looking at a really cool O gauge smooth 60' streamlined aluminum passenger car set. This Santa Fe Blue Goose streamlined passenger set was in the 1996 Fall/Winter catalog and was actually delivered in 1997. This was one of the first passenger sets MTH issued.
In those early days, MTH issued some of these factory painted aluminum passenger sets that were closer to the classic Lionel or Williams aluminum cars (at 15" and capable of 31" curves) than the later ABS plastic cars (18" and 42" curves). This series was numbered between 6001 and 6023.
Even though the 18" cars became standard, sometimes you just need the 15" cars and their traditional form to handle tighter curves.
