You are looking at a fantastic custom paint job to fill a void. This engine started life as a Southern Pacific gray MTH Protosounds 1 item from 1997. It was very professionally repainted to this livery. The inside of the box has the fellow's info stamped. He did these custom repaints for TCA and LCCA. It is so good, it had me fooled until I realized MTH did not make this engine. This GP38-2 is a unique and great looking diesel. You know how expensive it is to get a shell repainted by someone this good!
We tested it, and all is working. We replaced the original battery for you with a new one. Still always a good idea to charge up on the track a little bit before runtime.
This is MTH PREMIER line: three rail and a scale proportioned 1/48 scale with great detail.
Note that this is Protosounds 1, so it does not work with DCS (which is PS2 and 3). This series of GP38-2s were released without smoke.

As you know, MTH Premier items are compatible with just about any O gauge, but they go especially nice with Lionel Standard O and Atlas O. It runs on any three rail track whether by Lionel, MTH, Atlas, Gargraves or Ross Custom Switches.
CONDITION: C-8. Custom paint is in great shape. Tested and runs, lights, and sounds great. Nice box. The box is the box for the original numbered item. Box has sticker residue and "Florida East Coast" taped over the name.
