One of the early factory painted aluminum sets!
You are looking at a really cool O gauge smooth 70' streamlined aluminum passenger car set. This Atlantic Coast Line streamlined passenger set was in the 1996 Spring Premier catalog. This was one of the first passenger sets MTH issued.
In those early days, MTH issued 12 of these factory painted aluminum passenger sets that were closer to the classic Lionel or Williams aluminum cars than the later ABS plastic cars.
INTERESTING FACT: On some of these very early set boxes, the box would say 15" cars even though the cars were actually 18" (there were a few 15" sets). THE CARS IN THIS SET ARE 18".
