Here is a neat alt-O gauge production item from the early to mid 1950s.
This Thomas Industries 1869 Pioneer coach is all metal and was marketed as compatible with Lionel. It was part of a set that included a General type steam engine, this coach, and combine, and an observation. These General 19th Century type cars and locomotive came out well before Lionel's more famous General sets in 1959-60.
They came in quite a few variations in color, trucks, roof, print, etc.
This one:
- Yellow
- Black roof
- Smooth roof
- Red trucks
- Pioneer and 1869 on sides
- Light blue printing
CONDITION:Â Stained--may clean up, may not. Print looks good. Roof is smooth black. Windows are un-stickeing. Some oxidation on both trucks. Railings a little bent. A few dents.Â
