This is the clamp like accessory track contactor that Lionel put out to be activated by the wheels of the passing train.
The 1045C was originally intended to operate the 1045 Automatic Watchman / Flagman, but it was used to operate other accessories as well. It can be adapted to activate banjo signals, gateman accessories, crossing gates, block signals, semaphores, etc. It can ALSO be used to add a non-derailing feature to the 1122 027 switches.
CONDITION: C5/C5+.Working. Shows wear and significant oxidation; some surface rust. We always recommend replacing the insulation tape on the underside of the clamp, as it comes up on the ends.
